Gammon steaks with egg and pineapple are the British café classic when you want salty gammon, a fried egg and caramelised pineapple on one plate. Grill or pan-fry Gammon Steak 2x 8oz, then top with egg and pineapple rings. Shop Gammon Steaks and Gammon for butcher gammon steaks.

Ingredients
- 2 gammon steaks (about 8oz / 225g each)
- 2 eggs; 2 pineapple rings (fresh or tinned, drained)
- 1 tsp oil or a little butter; black pepper
- Optional: 1 tsp brown sugar for the pineapple; chips or fried tomatoes
Method
- Pat gammon dry. Heat a grill or heavy pan. Cook steaks 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through and lightly charred at the edges.
- In the same pan (or a second), fry pineapple rings 1–2 minutes per side until caramelised; sprinkle sugar if using.
- Fry eggs to your liking (sunny-side up is classic).
- Plate gammon, top each with an egg and a pineapple ring. Crack black pepper over.
- Serve gammon steaks with egg and pineapple and chips — proper British café plate at home.
