Gammon steak with pineapple is the British chip-shop classic when you want a thick gammon steak, sticky pineapple rings and chips on the side. Grill or pan-fry Gammon Steak 2x 8oz, then glaze with pineapple juice. Shop Gammon Steaks and Gammon for butcher gammon steaks.

Ingredients
- 2 gammon steaks (about 8oz / 225g each)
- 1 tbsp oil; black pepper (go easy on salt — gammon is cured)
- 2 pineapple rings (tin or fresh); 1 tbsp pineapple juice or honey
- Optional: fried egg; chips or mash; peas
Method
- Pat gammon dry. Snip the fat edge in a few places so it does not curl.
- Heat a grill or heavy pan. Oil lightly and cook 3–4 minutes per side until cooked through and caramelised at the edges.
- In the last minute, add pineapple rings to the pan; brush steaks with juice or honey.
- Rest 2 minutes. Fry an egg if you fancy the full plate.
- Serve gammon steak with pineapple and chips — sweet, salty and properly British.
