Air fryer steak works when you want a sear without heating the whole kitchen. Thickness matters more than the brand of machine. Rump Steak 2x 6oz and Sirloin Steak 2x 6oz are the everyday twin packs; Rib-eye Steak 2x 6oz brings more fat for flavour. Shop them in beef steaks.

Air fryer times
Pat the steak dry, oil lightly, and salt just before cooking. Preheat to 200°C. For a typical 2–2.5cm steak: rare about 6 to 8 minutes, medium-rare 8 to 10, medium 10 to 12 — flip halfway. Probe the centre: roughly 50°C rare, 54°C medium-rare, 60°C medium before resting. Rest five minutes on a warm plate. Thicker steaks need longer; thin ones finish fast, so check early. Do not stack two steaks on top of each other in a small basket.
Cuts and finishing
Rump is leaner and likes a careful clock; ribeye forgives a hotter finish because of the eye fat. Sirloin sits in the middle. For a deeper crust after the air fryer, 30 seconds a side in a ripping-hot pan works. Browse rump steaks when you want that cut specifically, or add BBQ meat for outdoor nights.
What to serve
Chips, a sharp salad, peppercorn sauce or just butter. Salt and rest do more than a complicated rub on a good steak.
Times above are a guide for home ovens and fryers — always trust a probe over the clock, and rest meat before you carve so the juices stay in the slice, not on the board. British packs vary a little in thickness, so start checking a few minutes early the first time you cook a new size, then write your own note on the fridge.
